Learn the basics of piano in semester 1, including getting to know the keyboard, half steps and whole steps, learning note values and beats, tempo and rhythm, piano melody, fingering, playing the piano with both hands and more. Each month, meet a new composer, learn where they are from and the pieces of music for which they are famous.
The featured project is called “Paint the Music”. We will discuss and define the effect of music on human beings and review pieces that elicit reflective, emotional and structural properties. Finally, through art, we will express on canvas what the music means to us.
