Bucket Drumming is designed to enhance academic performance while building important interdisciplinary skills such as fine and gross motor skills, cognitive, verbal and math skills and working cooperatively in a group setting. Students will learn movement and rhythm along with the basics of bucket drumming. The curriculum will include basic percussive rhythms, reading and understanding unique bucket drumming notation and drumming to fun, uplifting songs. Here is a sample of Bucket Drumming.
Each month, meet a new composer, learn where they are from and the pieces of music for which they are famous. The featured project is called “Paint the Music”. We will discuss and define the effect of music on human beings and review pieces that elicit reflective, emotional and structural properties. Finally, through art, we will express on canvas what the music means to us.
